  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?

  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Alabama's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Alabama's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Walker county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Jasper animal control for wildlife issues.

Jasper Wildlife Removal Tip: How to get groundhogs out from under a shed or porch

Groundhogs are big rodents living in houses in the suburbs. The adult may weigh around 10 lbs. they are vegans and their diet primarily focused on the garden. They dig big interconnecting burrows. They are also good diggers. Every spring time, the female groundhog gives birth to more than six babies. They hibernate in the northern parts of the reach. The spring always emerges every 2nd of February. A lot of times, the groundhog will engage in a behavior better known as shadow spotting. Most probably, this is not true, however, they emerge in the springtime and they go back and practice their digging skills once again.

The principal concern encountered by the groundhogs involves their tendency to dig. They can also do a lot of dirty movements and when they dig nearby your homes, like under the deck, the absenteeism of supporting dirt may have led to the cracking of the poor foundation of the house or establishment due to the digging activity being done by the groundhog. A lot of people would like to get rid of this animal before their garden is ruined. Just like any rodents, the teeth of the groundhog continuously grow and so this must chew a lot of times, however this is not just the only issue for homeowners.

The best method to take care of the groundhog problem is to trap them to get rid of them. If you will try to make things simpler, you just have to fill in the burrows and they will dig their way going in and out of the house. If you will try to repel them, they will just neglect it, or they will just dig somewhere else. There is no absolute solution aside from trapping to get rid of them. If you want them to be out of the shed right away, that will not happen, you must be patient. The sheds are the best places for groundhogs to start burrowing, this will not just shed the roof floor as well to keep the nest dry all the time and unseen, but the predators will be more likely to reach the burrow underneath the building.

The groundhogs are just like most of the wild animals, they want to live near human beings if there is an advantage that they can get. They are not picky eaters and they have always persuaded when there is food around, but moreover, shelter is also another important thing for them. To be able to get them out of your properly, you must place the trap straight to the next burrow entryway. The bait must be used for the trap and you can use some veggies like lettuce, broccoli, corn and others.
