Many of Arizona's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Arizona's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Maricopa county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Goodyear animal control for wildlife issues.

Goodyear Wildlife Removal Tip: What do opossums eat?
We have to feel sorry for the opossum. This marsupial doesn't exactly have the best looks you could not say it was attractive in any way. These creatures have a face we could say only a mother could love. Most people confuse the opossum with that of a large rat. These are not related to the rat family at all.

What do opossums eat?
The opossum is an omnivore feeding on rodents, snail, slugs, insects, eggs, plants, and fruit or grain. The opossum will happily eat human food as well as dog food or bin scraps. Opossums need a lot of calcium so that they will eat the skeletons of small animals and even road kill to keep up with their calcium requirements.

Opossums are quite intelligent and are quite clever at finding food and remembering where it was located. They ranked higher than cats, dogs and rats at remembering where their food was hidden. Opossums can find their way through mazes the quickest than that of cats, dogs and rats. There are over 60 species of the possum. The Virginia opossum is the most common which will keep returning to the place it found food time after time even without finding any more food there they will still return just to check.

The adult opossums are good at scavenging around for their food, but the baby opossums are about the size of a little honey bee. The babies will stay with their mother until they are older enough to find food for themselves.Opossums help by eating the annoying pests like slugs, snails and cockroaches and even road kill that would otherwise be left to rot.Opossums will rest most of the day until food is scarce then they will go out and scavenge for food during the day.

Opossums will travel miles during the night in search of food. They are strong climbers and will get high into trees if danger is near. These creatures will go in the opposite direction if another opossum is close by eating as they prefer to avoid conflict and competing over available food.It is best not to feed the opossums if you have any in your yard or around your local park. By feeding them, they lose their ability to fend for themselves, and they will also become domesticated and lose their fear of other animals in the wild. This can start to interrupt with the food circle.

By feeding opossums, you are stopping them from helping us to control the critters and rodents that become pests to us and destroy plant and garden life.Keep your pet food inside and only fill bird feeders for the amount they will eat during the day.Do not leave any birdseed overnight as this is when they will search for food. They mostly sleep through the day and will only search during the day for food if there are no food sources available to them.Opossums are wild animals, therefore, need to be able to fend for themselves and left to source their own food.
