Many of California's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving California's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local San Francisco county animal services for assistance. San Francisco Wildlife Removal Tip: Should I Feed A Baby Squirrel I Found?

Finding a baby squirrel is quite a rare occurrence for most people, even if they live in rural areas where there are plenty of squirrels around, but making the right decisions when you find the baby squirrel will really help in the long run. The natural instinct in many situations will actually be harmful to the baby squirrel, so make sure that you take the right steps and avoid the pitfalls that can kill the animal you are trying to save.

What To Do If You Find A Baby Squirrel

The biggest factor to emphasize is that in some cases the baby squirrel will not actually be orphaned, but it will have become separated from its mother, so the first step will be to give the baby squirrel space and not to touch it immediately, otherwise the mother may not return to her baby. After a couple of hours, if the baby squirrel hasn't been recovered by the mother, then you should look to step in.

Rehydrating A Baby Squirrel

When the baby has been separated from its mother for some time, the first steps you will need to do is to warm the animal by placing it near a hot water bottle filled with warm water and covered in a towel, and the looking to hydrate the animal. Rehydrating should take place before feeding the squirrel, and pedialyte is an infant rehydration fluid which is the best to use in this situation, and give the baby squirrel as much as it would like from the syringe.

What Can A Baby Squirrel Consume Safely?

Continue to use a syringe to feed the baby squirrel, and if you are going to need to keep the animal with you over a period until you can get it to a rehabilitator, you can also look to introduce Esbilac formula once the squirrel is fully rehydrated. This is a replacement for mother's milk, and has many of the nutrients and calories that the baby squirrel will need to survive.

Finding A Wildlife Rehabilitator

As soon as possible after discovering the baby squirrel, you should look to get the animal to an expert that will really be able to help the animal and will know the right things to do to keep the baby alive. There are lists of wildlife rehabilitators online, and your local veterinarian will often have a list of rehabilitators in the area that you can refer to.
