  • Scratching Noises in Your Attic?
  • Unwanted Wildlife on Property?
  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?
  • Digging Lawn or Under House?
  • We Can Solve It!
Many of California's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving California's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Los Angeles county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Valencia animal control for wildlife issues.

Valencia Wildlife Removal Tip: What should I do if I find a nest of baby opossums?

If you have found a nest of baby opossums, you need to be very careful. Especially with baby opossums that are born for only several days, their eyes are still closed. They will not survive if their mothers are not around.

Check if their Have Bruises/Injuries

The very first thing you must do is to check if they have bruises or injuries. This will be a good suggestion to see if they can still breathe and can live for days.

Keep the Baby Opossums until They Get Heavy

If you still noticed that the baby opossums are there alone in their nest, it will be a good idea to keep them until they already get heavy. There are a lot of factors involved why their mothers are nowhere to be found. They may already have been killed by other animals.

Place Them inside a Box with Proper Lid

You must place them inside a box with proper lid. The box should also have holes and a clean cloth. The lid must also be carefully secured using tapes. If you won't do this, they will for sure come out. They will create a mess in your house. Remember that opossums are intelligent animals. They can choose to escape at any time they want.

Keep the Baby Opossums Warm

You will need to comfort the baby opossums and keep them warm. If possible, place some soft rags and even a heating pad. Turn the heating pad at its low point. Place half of it right above the pad. Place the box in a dark, warm and quiet area away from pets and people.

Look for a Wildlife or Shelter Service

If the mother opossums do not still come back, it will just be right to look for a wildlife or shelter service that can cater to the needs of the opossums. Transport them to a place that is safer and more secure. The good thing about these service areas is that there can be found a special tube. This is utilized to feed them in a rehabilitator site.

Truly, rescuing baby opossums in a nest is necessary. You need to keep them warm at all times. You should continue observing them in order for them not to escape completely. Now, you already have an idea on the very basics of handling baby opossums!
