Many of Colorado's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Colorado's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Jefferson county animal services for assistance. Evergreen Wildlife Removal Tip: Removing Birds Nesting from eaves
Birds generally make nest at places that are near to food and water source and a place they consider safe. It should protect them from rain and sunlight. Such an ideal place is generally the eaves of buildings that not only protect the birds from bad weather but also keep them safe from predatory birds. But such nests often become a nuisance for the people living in the building. Bird droppings and noises made by birds is quite unpleasant to many. Birds are also supposed to be carriers of certain diseases hence removing bird nests would be a good precautionary measure.

Before a bird's nest is removed it would be better to ensure that there are no eggs or small birds in the nest. State laws prohibit one from removing such nests. Incase there are eggs or baby birds inside you will have to wait for them to grow and migrate to other place. Once the birds have gone you can take down the nest using a long stick or pole. Wash the area with water and fill any holes made by birds. Once the nest is removed you will need to take some precautionary measures to avoid birds building their nests again in the area.

Use netting
You can put netting on the area that is susceptible to bird nesting. Measure the area properly and then put the net without leaving any gaps. You can use wires also to pug any gaps in between. Even when birds come back the net would act as a deterrent and they would not be able to build their nests there again.

Put sticky solution on the eaves
Non-toxic sticky solution comes in the market that you can put on the walls of the eaves. If you have already put a net then you add the sticky solution on the net as an added precaution. This solution does not harm the birds. It would just stick to them and make it difficult for them to clean it. They will not like to perch on these places again thus saving the place from nesting.

Hang scary, noisy or shinny stuff
Birds can be scared of with some shinny or scary thing. Fake predator birds or rubber snakes can be hung to frighten away the birds. But if these things are kept stationary then they would not be enough to scare them. These items need to be moved to sufficiently frighten the birds. Birds also get distracted with shiny things. You can get this stuff in the market or you can improvise yourself. Stick some tin foils or cd's. Another great way to distract birds is to use sound repellants. Noise distracts the birds and makes them fly off. You can use some sonic repellents available in the market to scare away the birds. Use them in the evenings when the birds flock together.

Change bird feeder location
If you are keeping some kind of bird feeder or a bird bath nearby then you should remove it and keep it at some distance from the eaves. Birds will get attracted to the new food source and will stop nesting in the eaves.

You can use all or some of the tips and effectively keep away the birds from nesting in the eaves.
