  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?

  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Florida's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Florida's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Osceola county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Kissimmee animal control for wildlife issues.

Kissimmee Wildlife Removal Tip: What are some ways to kill an opossum in the yard?

Killing possums in the yard is not highly suggested, unless the situation calls for it. Shooting is one way to kill them and the use of poisonous substances, however shooting and poisoning are not suggested and they are against the law. You wouldn't want to kill them in your yard, because you need to clean up thoroughly and that is also more expensive, because you might find it hard to clean up, so you will end up hiring a company to do the cleaning. The possums are always considered as annoying animals in and out of the garden, particularly if there are food sources around readily available for them. They can also dig through the garbage bins or they can also steal the pet food you have for your pets at home. Getting rid of the possums may be very tricky, however, your perseverance can be of help in getting rid of them.

Controlling the possums in your yard can only happen if you understand their habits. Though, they prefer to be in the woods or open fields nearby the streams, they will take up much of your home, burrows and piles of leaves and brush. These creatures are nocturnal animals and they are always active at night time, they sleep through the day. This can make it somehow hard to see them because it is dark outside. On the other hand, they will also leave some signs for you to know that they have droppings, tracks pet food dishes and garbage bins as well along with damages plants. The backyard possums are also considered as omnivores and when you feed fruits, eggs, small animals, insects and nuts, they would love the have them, but they can also eat mice and frogs as well.

Controlling the methods for the possum in the backyard varies, but the use of repellents and deterrents are not highly suggested, because they will not work best for them. Fencing has just been another choice and that is much better and more inhumane. The use of possum repellents to ward off these wildlife animals may not be helpful in such a way that you expect the repellents to be. But it can provide you with relief, however it may not be the best solution if you want a long term relief. You can also use a motion active sprinkler system, that may also scare them and they will run away from your garden, but still, this is not a permanent solution.

Trapping possums are just another method to control the possum infestation. Learning how to trap them is not as hard as it seems, even if you do not have any background in handling them. This is just typically used by the wildlife control experts and then they relocate the animals in some accredited places or you can also leave them to the licensed wildlife experts in most places.
