Many of Florida's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Florida's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Pasco county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free New Port Richey animal control for wildlife issues.

New Port Richey Wildlife Removal Tip: How to get rid of birds without killing them

While you may think that birds are beautiful animals that add a certain elegance to your property, that does not mean that you want them coming around all the time. There can become a point where you could have dozens of these flying animals coming around your property, making a ridiculous mess that is beyond words.

The problem is that trying to keep them away from your house is not an easy task at all. Because of their ability to fly, they can get around many of the common measures that you would've taken to try to keep an animal away, such as using a fence. You have to think a little more creatively, swerve your wondering how to get rid of birds without killing them, here are some tips for you.

The first thing you wanted to do is to deny them any reason to come onto your property. Birds are normally coming around to find food, so taking away anything that they would eat would be a great step forward in keeping them away. This means that you need to not have seeds laying around, clean up after your pets have eaten, and make sure that your garbage cans are tightly sealed. This will keep them from being able to find easy sources of food.

If you have fruit trees, you also need to buy netting that completely covers over the trees and blocks to birds from being able to gain access to the fruit. There were several of these kinds of nets that you can buy at most home improvement stores, and they can be very effective at keeping birds away from your cherries, apples, and other fruit. They also are very effective on nut trees.

That is not the only measure you have to take, however. Keep in mind that most birds eat such things as worms and insects, so removing out seeds and nuts is only a small deterrent for them. Another thing you need to do to really ensure that you have success in keeping them away is to make sure that it is as difficult as possible for them to land.

Birds love to land on the edges of your roof and build nests under the eaves. To deter this, there are several bird guards that you can buy that have metal spikes on them that deny the bird the ability to land and move around. This can be a very effective tool because it keeps birds away from the most prominent places that they like to go.

You will also need to go around and swat out any nests that are being built in trees, underneath overhangs, and in any other location that would seem ideal for a bird to build a nest.

There are also several different kinds of commercial repellents that you can buy that can be highly effective. They should not be the only measure that you use to keep the birds away, however. They should only be used in conjunction with other options.
