Many of Florida's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Florida's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Clay county animal services for assistance. Orange Park Wildlife Removal Tip: How Fast Do Animals Decompose
Dead animal removal is very unpleasant and if animals die in the ductwork, attic or in a wall, the task becomes even more challenging and nauseous. Anything that dies- decays- and the odor that decaying animals give off is strong and pungent. The larger the animal, the more the biomass and stronger the odor.

The smell lingers till the bodies decompose or dry out- high temperatures accelerates decay while dampness causes the odor to linger longer. During decomposition, the body components are broken down to simpler matter. This process begins immediately after an animal dies.

At first, the body's chemicals and enzymes cause the breakdown of tissues; bacteria contribute to the process. When animal tissue decomposes, it causes the release of smelly compounds that's responsible for the putrid odor.

Removing the dead animal from the site and neutralizing the odor with air fresheners, sprays or artificial fragrances can mask the bad odor, at least for some time. Hopefully, by then, the odor would have vanished on its own. The problem becomes even more acute when animals die in the walls or ductwork.

In general, there are different stages in the process of animal decomposition- at first they begin to bloat, then start to decay and within a few days the main components of the body is broken down and the body is decomposed.

Temperature is the chief factor that dictates how fast the body decomposes. Flies and insects help in this process. On a hot summer day, when an animal dies, blow flies and flesh flies immediately assemble at the scene of death and search for good spots to lay their eggs. A dead, decomposing body is the ideal scenario for them.

The maggots eat into the flesh in search of food, bacteria begin their work of breaking down the dead body. Cells begin to die and the bacteria within the body commence to break them down. Enzymatic reactions within the body of the animal cause foul smelling chemicals to be released- chief of them are hydrogen sulphide, benzene derivatives that produce the unpleasant smell of death.

If the dead animal is in an open space, then insects playing the role of decomposers invite bigger animals to the scene. Together, they ensure that decomposition takes place faster.

Bodies of dead animals tend to decompose faster in hotter, more humid climatic conditions and odour is also strong at high temperatures. Rain helps to wash away the maggots and the rate of decomposition slows down to some extent. Sometimes though, constant wet weather could also speed up the process of putrefaction and cause bodies to decompose faster. In extremely dry or cold conditions, the process of decomposition is inhibited to a large extent. This is because bacteria become almost inactive during this period. The absence of moisture and the lack of enzymatic action together prevent the bodies from decomposing...

Smaller animals decompose within 5-7 days, while larger animals like the whale or shark could actually take years to really decay.
