  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Georgia's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Georgia's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Fayette county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Peachtree City animal control for wildlife issues.

Peachtree City Wildlife Removal Tip: Where do snakes live?

Do more snakes live in urban areas, or wild areas?

There are more snakes in the wild than the urban areas. When found in urban areas the snakes are in the areas that are rocky or have trees that they can easily blend in with or hide when the sun is too hot, or when they sense that there is danger. In the urban areas you will find snakes mostly in parks or in basements that are unattended for long periods of time. Depending on the type of snake, snakes can survive in the trees, others on the ground and some in water. The only place where snakes cannot live is in areas that have ice long times in the year.

Food availability

Snakes like most animals, will want to be near food sources, therefore places that have an ample supply of food are very attractive to snakes. That is why you may find a snake in your compound. It probably was following its food. In this case, it may be small rodents like rats.

Scales importance for snakes

Snakes have scales that form the protective layer of the snake. With the scales and how they lay on each other on the snake’s body the snake can easily slide up a tree as they have the grip from the Scales. Snakes have different ways of moving hence they can live in different areas. The only areas that are very tricky for the snakes to move are slippery areas like areas with glass.

How do snakes move around in their environments?

Serpentine method: this is the way we all relate to with snake movement the move in a wave like motion towards their destination.
Concertina methods: Using this method, they push their muscles from the rear end towards the front. This method of movement is used by snakes in tight spaces.
Sidewinding: this is a method used by snakes mainly in the desert. They move their bodies sideways just like the name suggests.
Rectilinear Method: Using this method the snake uses the scales under its belly for movement forward.

The verdict is

Because of their build, snakes are therefore able to live almost anywhere they wish, as long as it is conducive. However, since they are wild animals, they are most comfortable in the wild. You will therefore find more snakes in the wild than in urban areas.
