  • Scratching Noises in Your Attic?
  • Unwanted Wildlife on Property?
  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?
  • Digging Lawn or Under House?
  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Idaho's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Idaho's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Madison county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Rexburg animal control for wildlife issues.

Rexburg Wildlife Removal Tip: What equipment is needed to trap an armadillo?

Armadillos are nuisance animals. They burrow in your yard in search of food. This not only leads to unsightly holes all over your yard but can also compromise safety. If they burrow underneath your home or porch they can damage the foundation. Armadillos often congregate to mate or keep warm. If you're having trouble with one, there might be more nearby.

The tricky part

Armadillos are not easy to catch. They do not search for food on the surface, thus they will be less inclined to go after a baited trap. Armadillos dig for food, which is probably why you are trying to get rid of them. They pose very little threat to people and can easily be ignored. Unless they have started digging on your property.

How to trap them

There are two different types of traps for armadillos. The first is a live trap. This is the more humane way to go. This will entail setting up a trap that is in the vicinity of where the armadillo generally enters your property. It is also advisable to fence in the area, essentially forcing the armadillo into the trap. In order to do this, you can make use of directional fences that will essentially form a maze that leads towards the trap. As they will not be baited like other critters you will need luck in order to trap them. The second is a kill trap. Armadillos are not easy to kill. They are covered in a thick leathery armor that protects them from harm. It is thus a difficult task to find a trap that will successfully kill them.

Phoning for help

The best option might be to phone a professional. The cost of all the equipment that you will need in order to trap the armadillo might be more than paying someone to do it. They have everything that is needed and are skilled in getting rid of the problem permanently.

Keeping them out

The easiest way to ensure you do not encounter an armadillo problem is to make your yard unappealing. Armadillos are attracted by food like ants and termites. By ensuring these are not widely available in your yard you will be taking a step towards keeping them out. It is also important to keep your yard fenced in. This will keep all sorts of pests from entering your property.
