  • Scratching Noises in Your Attic?
  • Unwanted Wildlife on Property?
  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?
  • Digging Lawn or Under House?
  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Illinois's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Illinois's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Cook county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Evanston animal control for wildlife issues.

Evanston Wildlife Removal Tip: How to Get Rid of Moles in yard with Juicy Fruit Gum

Methods to remove moles are plentiful. Some are sound, while other might be a little weird. One of those methods that you might not think about it Juicy Fruit Gum. Juicy Fruit is a hugely popular chewing gum, something most people today know and have tried at some point. While its use for us is purely as a gum or candy, its use for moles is a bit different. They might try to eat it, causing a problem with their digestive tract. When they try to eat it, it will cause issues with digestion, which will result in eternal rupture. It can kill the animal, albeit in a more painful way.

Juicy Fruit Gum

You can buy Juicy Fruit Gum at most stores. They are common across the country in any store that sells gum. Cheap, too, getting your hands on a package is one of the easiest things you can do. This is the main reason the popularity of this method has skyrocketed. Juicy Fruit Gum is cheap and, supposedly, highly effective. A little investment in something that can save your yard is a big deal, but how do you use it? It is not a difficult task to use Juicy Fruit Gum, but it can be somewhat time consuming and not always that effective.

Using the Gum

There are different methods about using Juicy Fruit Gum. From chewed to right out of the package, to cut into blocks, everyone has their own method. In the end, though, you will have to put the gum at several areas around the tunnels. Putting the gum around the tunnels, where you know the mole will go, will put it right in its path. The mole will find and, hopefully, eat it. When they do, you just have to wait for this to go through and destroy their digestive tract.

Now, moles are carnivores. They do not eat plants, but instead worms and slugs and other creatures around the garden. As such, getting them to eat the gum might not be easy. One way to "trick" them is to make it smell like their food. Mixing it up with something the moles eat, like worms, will make it more appealing to the mole.

Remember to check often and replace any gum missing until you no longer have a mole problem. It can take a while, but it should help you to stop moles from digging around the property.
