Many of Illinois's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Illinois's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Lake county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Grayslake animal control for wildlife issues.

Squirrels are considered to be very intelligent creatures and it is certainly a tough job to remove from the building. They are cute little wild animal known for their bushy tail and amazing climbing ability. It is not uncommon for squirrels to build their home in buildings and make nest as well for breeding babies. Hence, if you have got them at your home, attic, basement or any other part of your building then it is necessary to remove them as they carry ticks and fleas which can easily be transmitted and spread infections.

There is no fixed time which can be quoted to remove squirrels from the building as it all depends upon situation at hand. If the place where squirrels have made their nest is difficult to access then it might take more time (as obviously you don't want to hurt her) as compared to if she has made her nest in accessible area (the probability of which is certainly low!). Here are some tips to remove squirrels from your building!

Hire experts as they know the tricks

If you are not an expert in removing squirrels and wild animal handling then it is wise to hand over this task to a team of experts who can do this for you! They have soft tools and techniques to remove the squirrels without hurting them even a bit and leaving them at a place where they can make their nests easily. This will save your time and effort and also relinquishes the risk of hurting these innocent creatures.

Squirrels with tiny babies ate hardest to remove by yourself

If the squirrels have laid babies and the population of them has increased in your building then removing squirrels would take lot of time (more than you can even imagine!). Moreover, they don't stay in group, they are always spread and thus removing one or two will not make their whole group exit from the building. Hence, you would require expert advice and assistance in accomplishing this task! Also, their younger ones are so tiny and tender that you might be scared to touch and remove them. Hence, you would need someone who can remove them safely from your building.

Getting rid of squirrels if there is just one or two by laying the trap

You need to identify the spot from where squirrels are entering your building. It can't be the main door definitely. There must be some hole or soft lining which they are surpassing and entering your building. If that is the case then mount a trap near to that area. This will help you in trapping them whenever they are getting out for food and water and coming back in. Once you have trapped them, just remove the trap and leave the squirrels in the open area to sustain where they can find some wildlife (so definitely not your neighbourhood) and get all those soft spots sealed immediately.

After you have gotten rid of squirrels with the help of experts, make sure you seal the entry spots with steel so that they can't chew in again and clean up that portion of your building with antimicrobial solutions!
