  • Scratching Noises in Your Attic?
  • Unwanted Wildlife on Property?
  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?
  • Digging Lawn or Under House?
  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Illinois's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Illinois's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Cook county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Harvey animal control for wildlife issues.

Harvey Wildlife Removal Tip: Should I ever poison a pigeon?

There are many methods that wildlife agents have put in place to deal with animals that are a nuisance to most of the people. They include; shooting, killer traps etc. but you will find that people nowadays are going for very dangerous weapon to kill these animals. One of the methods they go for is poisoning.

Should I use poison to kill a wild bird (pigeons?)

No! Definitely not. This method is very inhumane and very heartless. Poisoning should never be encourage and more often than not, you will find people going for this method, without even considering the adverse effect that this method can cause.

If you find you neighbor using this method to curb wildlife animal, definitely it is a warning note to your household too, therefore, discourage the use of poisoning as much as possible.

Adverse effect of poisoning

Poisoning, beyond any reasonable doubts has very adverse effects, some of which can even harm us.

1. It is an inhumane method of wildlife curbing procedure. It causes great suffering to the bird and before the bird dies, it will have experienced pain like no other.
2. It may not kill the bird instantly. Some poisons do not kill the bird instantly but rather, the bird might take several days before it actually dies.
3. There is no specific poison designed for a bird like pigeon. The only used poison to curb pigeon is the rat poison. This might cause great internal bleeding by the animal, causing the bird to suffer suffocation. This is so inhumane.
4. In some instances, the poison might kill the non-targeted animals. This might include even your favorite pets. This can be a great challenge and loss.
5. In case you use poison, you are not guaranteed of the exact point where the bird will surely die. Therefore, you might end up having a bunch of dead bird in your yard leading to smelly carcasses.
6. The clean-up procedure might be too difficult, expensive, and life-threatening. Some poison might even affect your tissue metabolism in case you come into contact with them after they have acted on the animal. This can be a very adverse effect to you.

Still convinced that poison is the best?

Some people may argue the fact that poison is not that bad. All they want to see are the results. Well, results are not always the best. Sometimes caution needs to be taken and taken seriously. Cease the use of poison for a better living.
