  • Scratching Noises in Your Attic?
  • Unwanted Wildlife on Property?
  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?
  • Digging Lawn or Under House?
  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Kansas's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Kansas's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Leavenworth county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Leavenworth animal control for wildlife issues.

Leavenworth Wildlife Removal Tip: Common Snakes of Illinois

This post will be showing you a list of some of the most common snakes that you can find in Illinois. It is meant to have you exposed to those snakes that are dangerous and the ones which aren't. The details will be divided into two categories which are the ones with venoms and those that don't have.

Non-Venomous Snakes

Some of the less dangerous or non- venomous snakes which you can find in this place will be listed below.

Water Snake

Water snakes are of different (about 6) species. These are Yellow Belly Water, Northern water, Midland water, Copperbelly water, Broad - branded water and Diamondback water. By hearing the name, you should tell what they are actually good at which is having to swim in water. They can attack creatures that are always living close to water. These could earthworms, toads, snails, salamanders and so on.

Ribbon Snake

This has various species such as Eastern Ribbon, Plains ribbon, Western Ribbons and Northern Ribbon. Its pattern and color is greatly dependent on location as well as the category of species that it belongs to. You have to understand that all of the species which have been stated above are non-venomous. This actually makes them harmless creatures. They have been discovered to be very calm naturally so don't get too frightened whenever you discover them around where you live. They feed on worms, insects and minnows.

Rat Snake

These are of two categories such as Gray Ratsnake and Plains Ratsnake. If you are a lover of snakes and have been looking for one to take in as your pet then you can make use of this type of snake due to its calm nature. Although its average length is about 4ft, there are instances where some have been discovered to be 10ft.

Venomous Snakes

Some of them are discussed below.

Timber Rattlesnake

This is the most dangerous venomous snake that you can find amongst others in Illinois. It can be very fatal when it strikes its prey most especially when such bite isn't properly attended to on time. The only thing about Timber Rattlesnake is the fact that it doesn't strike or bite unless being threatened. It seems to be gradually going into extinction with the passage of time. However, you can find it in forests and those areas which are not too accessible in Illinois.

Western Coppermouth

This is another dangerous snake that you can find in this place. Another name for it is water moccasin or Agkistrodon piscivorous. It is about 2 to 3 feet long. Its head is flat as well as broad. It has been mostly notable for having the ability to blend into places that it finds itself.
