  • Scratching Noises in Your Attic?
  • Unwanted Wildlife on Property?
  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?
  • Digging Lawn or Under House?
  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Kentucky's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Kentucky's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Bourbon county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Paris animal control for wildlife issues.

Paris Wildlife Removal Tip: What Diseases Do Raccoons Carry?

Raccoon are the hostile animals which can transfer diseases to human by scratches, bites and also through direct contact. They can transfer a handful of diseases to the human population and it’s not even difficult as they are little furry animals who we see near or sometimes inside our houses. It is very important to take safety measures and not directly touch the things they have left behind or touched. The most common types of diseases that raccoons carry are leptospirosis, rabies, raccoon’s roundworms, and salmonella.

The most common disease the raccoons are believed to carry is rabies. The rabies viruses affect the nervous system and the symptoms of a person infected by rabies are hallucinations, seizures and fever. If a raccoon has the rabies virus, it is usually present in the saliva of the raccoon and can spread through bites, or even scratches as it would have possibly taken its claws in the mouth. Rabies can cause human death if the person is not treated as soon as possible. Raccoon usually don't carry the rabies viruses all the time and transmitting it to other people and animals like people think them to.

Raccoon leave a million eggs of roundworms in their feces but they are still the eggs and not grown up into worms. The egg cannot grow into the worms while it comes in contact with the water, sand or soil which means it only grows when it’s inside the raccoon’s body. This can cause serious damage to the organs and the muscles of the human body and affects the nervous system. The most serious thing it causes is blindness or even coma.

The bacteria of salmonella are also found in the raccoon’s feces and can affect the human race if it comes in direct contact with them. The bacteria lays inactive or dormant in the dry environment but can become active if the conditions and environment is favorable. The symptom of salmonella is severe diarrhea, fever or abdominal pain. It severely affects the young children and even an elderly person.

Canine Distemper

This is more common raccoon disease and very similar to the rabies disease they carry. They are mostly caused to the pet animals like cats and dogs and it becomes very important to get your pet vaccine once a month for the worms even if you don’t have any raccoons around. They are airborne disease and can be contaminated by even inhaling the infected air. The infection can cause the parasite to move to the nervous system of the body.

The parasite of the disease leptospirosis is excreted by the raccoons through their urine, so the chance of being infected by the parasite is higher as you can get the disease by coming in contact by the infected water or water body. This can lead to liver failure or anemia.
