Many of Maryland's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Maryland's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Montgomery county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. Damascus Wildlife Removal Tip: How to get rid of woodpeckers on cedar siding
Let's face it, your home is the biggest investment you will ever make, and the last thing you want is for a woodpecker to be damaging it. The sound of it beating against the side of your home as it tries to get termites or fungus out of the siding can be extremely disturbing, especially when that siding is made of cedar.

Cedar can be quite costly, and trying to replace it due to damage from woodpeckers is just an expense you can't afford. What you need to know is how to get rid of woodpeckers that are coming to your cedar siding, so here are some ideas.

The first thing to try is to use the various kinds of repellent objects that you can get. These include such things as bird repellent tape, repellent balloons, or repellent discs. How these work is quite simple. By hanging them outside they reflect the sunlight, which disturbs the birds and causes them to go away. Placed in strategic areas around your home they can be highly effective at deterring woodpeckers from coming around your siding.

There are also electronic woodpecker repellents. These devices admit a series of distress calls that frighten the birds away. You have the option of choosing how often they will play and when they will occur.

Another option is to give them another location to go to where they can get food. Instead of them coming around your home to get at termites or ants, you can put up a feeder that will allow them to eat things so that they will stay away from your house.

Some don't really like this choice because they feel like they are giving in to the birds, but the truth is that it is better that you choose the location where they will come then them actually pecking away at your home. It really make sense for you to lure them away from your house by ensuring that they have a different source of food so they will not come around your home.

You can also use such things as woodpecker spikes or netting. These present a kind of barrier that denies the birds an opportunity to get around your home. The spikes deny them access to land on your home or to begin pecking at the walls because the spikes interfere with this.

You can also purchase plastic or cloth netting that goes around your home that makes it impossible for the birds to be able to start pecking against the walls of your home either. This can be an extremely effective product to use against these birds and is not really unbecoming to your home at all.

By using either the spikes or the netting you really only need to keep them up for us short period of time before the birds will move on. If they are not finding a food source with you within a few days, you can be sure that they will go somewhere else and you can remove these products.
