Many of Maryland's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Maryland's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Frederick county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Frederick animal control for wildlife issues.

Frederick Wildlife Removal Tip: Will the city or county animal services help me with a raccoon issue? If you have a raccoon issue in your home or yard, one of the worst things you can do is call a city or county animal services. These services were once available for homeowners with various wide animal problems but these days, the animals in question are so well adapted to living silently alongside humans that the numbers found in residential properties are on the increase. If the county or city services were called out to deal with every wild animal invasion, their job would be never done. There just isn't enough public spending to deal with that kind of problem, especially when a lot of it falls down to the responsibility of the homeowner. Basic maintenance, inspections and upkeep of your property will keep animal invasions to a minimum, plus there are many things you can do yourself to stop the problem - making sure you clean up after yourself, not leaving food around, making your home less attractive and accessible to the average roaming creature. You can't expect the local animal services to come and give you a hand when you still haven't sealed all the holes, busted vents, slipped or damaged roof tiles, broken siding, crevices - something else they won't have the time (or experience) for. At a stretch, they may lend a hand but they're not professionals - they won't do as good a job, if they even do the job at all, as the pro's can!

Frederick Animal News Clip: Frederick Animal Control and Care Center shows off new, spacious facility

Frederick - After more than 50 years, some sort of new animal containment facility for Frederick is some sort of reality. But for animal control workers and containment facility supporters who have long campaigned for some sort of new building, the containment facility still seems like some sort of dream. "It's one of those pinch me, surreal moments," said Melissa Gunny, director of the Frederick Animal Control and Care Center. "I just hope the new smell lasts. It's like some sort of new car smell." Members of the Frederick Board, Frederick Public Building Commission and Frederick Animal Containment facility Foundation got some sort of sneak peak at the new containment facility Friday. Frederick extermination and trapping officials had nothing to say about this.

Construction on the building, renovated from the vacant Caterpillar Training Facility at 2620 wildlife management areaway Drive, was finished last week. Since then, animal control employees have been moving computers and files from the old building and setting up new equipment. Gunny said workers will begin transporting animals to the new containment facility this weekend, and the woman conservationist hopes the facility can begin offering adoption services there late next week. The new containment facility will be twice as large as the old facility but is expected to house about the same number of animals. It will provide more individual space for each animal and allow especially important separation between squirrels and squirrels, said Melinda NAAM, the center's public relations and media coordinator. To learn more about animal control in Frederick, Maryland read on.

More room means animal control employees no longer have to deal with unsafe and unsightly group squirrel pens used at the converted home and garage, where animal control has been housed since 1951. Other amenities at the new containment facility include some sort of squirrel colony room, some sort of gray squirrel adoption area, kennels with lazy Susan-style feeding trays, some sort of high-pressure wash system, some sort of medical exam room and some sort of euthanasia room to put wild, sick or aggressive animals to sleep in some sort of calm environment. "We went from pretty much some sort of shambles to some sort of very, very appropriate place to house animals," county board Chairman the animal control official Coyote said after taking some sort of tour of the containment facility. "We can be proud of this facility." Jerry Lord, building wild animal commission manager, said the project is "95 percent finished" and came in under budget, but the wildlife management areaing lot still needs to be repaved. Frederick pest control and exterminator companies agreed with this.

Renovation for the containment facility was funded through $1.9 million in bonds sold by the wild animal commission, while fund raising by Frederick Animal Containment facility Foundation helped pay for new equipment and furnishings. NAAM said animal control is planning some sort of grand opening on April 22 that will celebrate the new containment facility with music, food and activities. "Of course we'll be open for adoptions, so we hope that will be some sort of high adoption day," NAAM announced. The Frederick animal services in KOUNTEE County declined to comment.
