Many of Missouri's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Missouri's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocaton services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Jackson county animal services for assistance. Grandview Wildlife Removal Tip:

Do Snakes Dig Holes?

Snakes often hibernate in underground holes. They need it since they can be inactive for a long time and they must be safe from predators. Like all the other species, snakes need food, water and shelter to survive. Snakes are able to adapt to a diverse range of habitats ranging from arid deserts to rainforests. These shelters vary and they need it to hide from predators, finding prey, and avoiding extreme heat or cold temperatures.

Snakes do not establish a permanent shelter. They move from one location to another especially if food is scarce. A snake's home is called a burrow when it leaves alone. While a home where several snakes live is called a den.

Snakes are able to find shelters in holes. They don't dig these holes themselves. Their build is not capable of digging decent holes that are wide and deep enough for them to be safe from predator and humans. They are able to use holes that were dug by rodents or chipmunks. Snakes are able to go underground by burrowing on soft soil or sand. However, you can't call it digging. When snakes need shelter, it can just invade a rodents' hole. They just simply eat the animals living in the hole and consider the place their shelter afterward. Terrestrial snakes can mostly burrow on leaf litters on forest floors. Sand boas in Africa and Asia, as well as womas, and black-headed pythons from the Australian desert can be effective excavators. They are able to dig into the loose sand. However, the shelter that they can create does not have the structure of an effective burrow that mice or rodents can dig. They just literally bury themselves in the sand.

Some find shelters in dead tree logs, or on piles of rock. Some are arboreal. It means that they live on trees and feed on it. Some are aquatic. Water snakes (Nerodia sp.), can use burrows or dens made by frogs. They can prey on fishes or other animals that they can overpower. If you see a snake slithering out of the ground, they might have bullied the one who dug the hole or have eaten it already. Bullying is a typical snake behavior since it tends to prey on animals that it can overpower.

Identify a Snake Hole

Some species of snake spends a lot of time underground especially on areas with extreme temperatures. They only emerge for food, sunshine, or if it's time for mating. If you don't see a spider web at the entrance of a hole, there is a chance that it is inhabited by a snake. It can be difficult to identify whether the hole in your backyard is inhabited by a snake. If you can see a snake slithering out of it, then it is obviously the home of a snake. Make sure to keep calm and identify first if it is venomous or not. If you can't handle a snake, it is best to call the best snake removal service in town in order to be safe.
