Many of North Carolina's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving North Carolina's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocaton services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Davidson county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. Lexington Wildlife Removal Tip: How to keep squirrels out of your house?

How to keep squirrels out of your house? If you have seen a squirrel in your house, you will for sure be scared about it. That is because it runs a lot faster around the house. It also hides beneath the furniture and it jumps on the cabinets. It knocks over the knickknacks. And, you will now need to get it humanely.

What to Do if It Gets Inside Your House?

1. Remove any of those pets around where the squirrel is hiding or running.
2. Close all possible entries of the room which is opened to other areas of the house.
3. Open all windows and doors that could lead outside.

Try the Method of Humane Baiting

1. You may as well try bait with a huge-sized of humane trap. This will also have a peanut butter.
2. You need to set the trap right through the floor and next to the squirrel. Leave it there for about several hours.

Follow the Blanket Approach

If ever the things mentioned above still prove to be ineffective, you now need to follow the blanket approach.

1. Put on your heavy gloves. Hold the blanket just right in front of you.
2. Approach the animal. Drop the blanket right through it. Afterwards, roll the blanket up.
3. Be aware to not roll it too tight. Do not push it too hard. That way, you will not injure or squeeze it.
4. Carry the squirrel that is already wrapped in the blanket outside. Then, open it right through the ground and then away from you. It will find its way to escape.

Keep them Out

If you already have gotten the animal out, you need to find out its entry point. Look for possible tracks right through the fireplace. Examine the attic for possible nests. Check both the exterior and the foundation for holes.

One more thing is that you need to seal the entry points to avoid them from coming back. It will also be useful to make use of a sealant as a metal flashing. That way, the animal will not anymore get back inside. Cover the chimneys using chimney caps. And then, keep the doors completely closed. This is especially if they are not in use. Now, you have learned how to keep squirrels out of your house. You will for sure benefit from following the methods mentioned above and will give you peace!
