Many of New York's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving New York's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocaton services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Suffolk county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Brookhaven animal control for wildlife issues.

Brookhaven Wildlife Removal Tip: What Is a Groundhog's Mating Habits, When Do They Have Babies, How Do They Raise Their Young?

Mating Habits and Season:

Like other animals and rodents, groundhogs also have specific and natural breeding process. The female groundhogs come to mating with males at the end of winter season. Mating of these animals is mostly possible at the fall of February and it is just one month before the birth of groundhog babies. It is awesome that a female groundhog can give birth at least 9 babies at the same time. They also give birth new babies from fall of the March to end of April. These babies are very little and more probably they will be just 2 inches in length.

Reproducing Phenomenon:

Male and female groundhogs come for mating at the fall of winter. They usually decide for mating at the end of February when the winter season is coming to an end. In fact, they mate in this season because female groundhogs like giving birth to babies in early of summer. So, mating season is February.

Number of Babies:

Every female groundhog carries almost 9 babies in her womb for a month after mating. These female groundhogs come to their dens and give birth the babies in March to mid or end of April according to the environment.

First 45 Days of Babies:

Groundhog babies don't open their eyes for next 45 days and their mother feed them. These babies get their milk in dens and stay with their mother. After 45 days, these babies open their eyes and start some physical movements and their length and weight both start increasing. Usually, they gain a weight up to 4 pounds in next few months and they are 11 inches in length.

Early 3 Months of Babies:

When the babies reach first three months, they start moving and they come out their den. Now, they improve their energy level, stamina, growth and body weight in next 12 months. In this way; these rodents can live their life up to 6-7 years.
