Many of New York's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving New York's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Saratoga county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Malta animal control for wildlife issues.

Malta Wildlife Removal Tip: About Flying Squirrel: Appearance, biology, life cycle, habitat, diet, behavior

The Flying Squirrel has a deceitful name, in the sense that it can't really fly in the sense that other flying birds can. Instead it uses the flaps of skinning its body to glide from one tree to the next. This article hopefully will be able to help the average Joe the basics of the Flying Squirrel.

Appearance

To the casual observer of a Flying Squirrel in the wild, there isn't a huge amount of difference between them and their non-flying cousins, the red or grey Squirrel.

Biology

If you were to look at the skeleton of the animals however there is a slightly viable difference between them and the common Squirrel. One such example of a difference is the fact that the hands and feet of flying squirrels are shorter. They are from the from the Family (in the classification system of all life) as Sciuridae.

Life cycle

The life cycle of a flying squirrel varies dramatically on whether or not it is in captivity. In the wild they usually last for around 6 years, whilst in places such as zoos, flying squirrels have been observed to last as much as 15 years. This difference can be partially attributed to predation and disease.

Habitat

The preferred habitats are that of forests, particularly ones which have a percentage of evergreen trees. It lives in places such as abandoned woodpecker holes or makes a small nest out of twigs.

Diet

The diet of the flying squirrel varies much upon its geographical location, but the common rule for them is that they are omnivorous and will eat almost anything it physically can.

Behavior

The flying squirrel, in order to avoid some of its prey, is more of a nocturnal creature. Furthermore, it does not hibernate like the normal squirrel, and if it needs to keep warm it has been observed to huddle with other flying squirrels.
