  • Scratching Noises in Your Attic?
  • Unwanted Wildlife on Property?
  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?
  • Digging Lawn or Under House?
  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Ohio's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Ohio's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Medina county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Brunswick animal control for wildlife issues.

Brunswick Wildlife Removal Tip: How To Keep Skunks Out Of My Garden: When a skunk gets into your garden, it can be a real nuisance. You may hear a lot of noise at night Ė due to their nocturnal nature Ė or find holes in your grass where they have been foraging for food. They may knock over all of your plants or get into your trash or garage. Whatever it is that they are doing, you want them gone!

It is likely that you will smell a skunk, rather than see one. Skunks have anal scented glands that they use to protect themselves. The smell they emit is a mixture of sulphur containing chemicals which is very offensive and quite frankly disgusting. Sometimes the smell is the biggest problem of them all.

If you want to keep your garden skunk free, there are a few deterrents that you can employ. Firstly ensuring that your garden is lit up with solar powered (or something similar) lights will make it a less appealing place for them to live. Motion activated sprinklers have a similar effect. Also getting rid of any natural food sources such as berries, nuts and grass trimmings, even pet food and animal feed, will leave them hunting elsewhere for food.

Keeping your garbage cans locked away or properly sealed so that the skunks donít get a whiff of your trash. Skunks can survive on human waste, and you donít want your garbage can becoming a regular food source for them.

It is also advisable to prevent them from taking shelter anywhere on your property. Although skunks donít hibernate, the do make dens for warmth when they are giving birth or keeping heated in the winter Ė if they chose your house, you will have a very difficult job of getting rid of them. Seal up the underneath of any porches or decking, ensure there are no holes they can get into and make sure that you trim the lower branches of any bushes. If there isnít any shelter from the bad weather, it is unlikely the skunk will choose to stay with you.

There are selections of skunk chemicals that you can use to keep them off of your grass Ė ammonia, pepper spray and citrus peel have natural repellent qualities. Fox and dog urine will also work due to their predatory nature. Skunks will not put themselves in way of harm if they can help it.

You could also set a trap to catch the skunk, before removing it from your property. There are plenty of bait luring products available to assist you with this. Just be sure to be extremely careful when releasing the skunk back into the wild. Wear protective clothing and keep your face and body out of harm's way.
