Many of Utah's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Utah's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Cache county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Logan animal control for wildlife issues.

Logan Wildlife Removal Tip: How To Get Rid Of Gophers

Gophers are an absolute threat to your lawn and garden. These small creatures can really cause peril in your garden when given a chance. It may be very difficult to spot the damage at first, because these animals are very discrete. They create voids that could cave in anytime something heavy is placed on them, eat up plant roots and thus render them unable to grow, chew through electrical cables and water pipes, among other manner of destructive things.

There are very many ways to get rid of them from your garden. They can be classified into two major groups, namely;

- Lethal methods, and
- Non-lethal methods.

Before we go on though, it is best that that I advise you to avoid the lethal methods at all costs because gophers are only innocent wild animals going about their daily activities and do not intentionally plan to destroy our property.

Lethal methods

These include;

- Poisoning them with poison pellets.
- Gassing them.
- Flooding their tunnels-this is mostly not intended to kill them, but it ends up drowning them mostly, and therefore it is classified here.

Use of the lethal methods does not really finish the problem, it mostly just gives the farmer a break. Therefore, it is mostly pointless.

Non-lethal methods

There are very many methods in this category which is the better and most recommended approach to the problem. Here are a few of them;

- Live traps- these are used to trap the gophers alive and then get them relocated away from the land. It is good to know that, this method is not legal everywhere so before practicing it, it is advisable to first check with the local authorities.
- Castor oil-this method is getting more and more popular these days since it is proving to be very effective. The castor oil, is spread strategically in the farm and then watered so that it may sip deep into the soil and repel the gophers.
- Ultrasonic repellents- these are powered by batteries and the sun and therefore can be placed anywhere in the garden. The ultrasonic sounds they produce are not music to the gophers' ears and therefore are very effective in repelling them.
- Peppermint oil- placed in the gophers' holes.
- Fabric softener sheets- gophers don't like their smell. They are placed in the gophers' holes.
- Gopher mesh- prevents them from digging holes, but not from eating roots of the plants.
- Gopher mesh barriers- placed in trenches dug around the area that needs to be protected from gophers.
- Plants- plants like marigolds, lavender and rosemary repel the gophers since they don't like the smell.
- Garlic stakes.
- Artificial grass.
- Owl boxes- serve as decoy owls, and thus scare the gophers away.

When the gophers a finally successfully gotten rid of, then the holes should then be filled to avoid another stream of gophers coming in to continue the work of their predecessors.
