Many of Virginia's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Virginia's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Stafford county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. Stafford Wildlife Removal Tip: Rat traps that work
Rats! They are known as formidable, destructive pests. Aside from being tough to control, they are also known to damage property, contaminate food, and spread various diseases.

Rats tend to reproduce rapidly which means that problems with rats can quickly turn into your worst nightmare. To avoid dealing with rat problems, it is best to practice prevention methods. Check out these rat traps that will surely work and help keep your home rodent-free:

The Classic Rat Snap Traps
Rat snap traps are one of the most popularly used rat trap. They are found to be effective, yet affordable. The snap trap works by snapping a metal wire over the neck of the rat as soon as the trigger is set and the rat took the bait.
Advantages:
Snap traps are inexpensive and can effectively kill rats quickly if properly used.
They are reusable.

Cautions:
Snap traps can cause serious injuries when sprung accidentally. Be careful when using the trap to make sure you don't hurt yourself. Additionally, always keep it away from children.

The Live Animal Rat Traps
If you find it gory to kill rats, live trap is for you. A live trap looks like a cage usually made out of small steel. It works by luring the rat to grab a piece of bait strategically located near a pressure-triggered pad designed to catch the rat without necessarily harming them in the process.

Advantages:
It is considered a humane rat trap where the intention is not to kill rats but to get rid of them.
It is a safer way to catch the rats.

Caution:
When using live traps, be sure to wear gloves. Be sure to check on your trap every now and then, so you can empty it once a rat is caught.

The Electric Rat Traps
This works best if the rat infestation isn't full-blown yet. The electric trap is quite easy to use. All you need to do is set up the bait, install the required batteries and turn the trap on. It works by electrocuting the rat as soon as it enter the trap.

The Glue Traps
A Glue trap is usually a piece of pad or sheet which is covered in adhesive. It has a spot in the middle area for the bait. Once the rat takes the bait, the rat's legs will be trapped with the adhesive and eventually kill the rat due to suffocation as it struggles to break free from the trap.

Advantages:
Glue traps are less costly.
Considered safe compared to snap traps
Can be a multi-purpose trap as it can also trap bugs, spiders and others.

The Poison Traps
You can buy ready to use poison rat traps. Start by identifying the areas frequented by the rats. Then you can place the poison station in those spots. Once the rat ingests sufficient amount of the poison the rat can die elsewhere.

Caution:
Poison traps can pose real danger if not use properly. Be sure to store and place them away from children's reach. Wash your hands thoroughly to avoid poisoning.

Rat traps can be an effective way to deal with rat problems firsthand. However, if the rat problem tends to be more serious and already full-blown it is best to contact professional pest exterminators to deal with the problem immediately before more damages can take place.
