Many of Washington's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Washington's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Clallam county animal services for assistance. Sequim Wildlife Removal Tip: What Do I Do If a Nest of Raccoons Is in My Attic?

Maybe you could hear an odd noise in your attic one evening or you are of cleaning in the attic when you realize that there was a nest of raccoon babies. After your initial shock that these animals had a litter in your attic, you started to think about what you would do. What do you do with a nest of raccoons in your attic?

First, Be Cautious

Your first step is to be cautious. While these animals may look friendly and safe, even the babies pose a potential risk to you. Raccoons are notorious for the diseases they carry, which includes rabies. That could have been passed on to the babies, meaning if you are scratched or bitten by this animal, you could contract the disease. This could lead to death.

In addition, raccoons carry a number of parasites that pose a health risk to you and your family as well. You need to be really careful about coming in close proximity with these animals. Even breathing in particles from their waste could be dangerous.

Find Out Where They Are Getting In

If the mother is with the babies, you should leave them undisturbed. This is a wild animal who has babies. Her motherly instincts are going to kick in, which could be dangerous to you.

Instead, what you need to do is to find out where the mother is getting into your home. She has to leave at some point to go out to get food and water for herself to take care of the babies. Search around the outside of the house to see if you can find the entryway she is using to gain access to your attic. Look for loose boards, gaps, and other spots that would enable her to get inside. Don't do anything with them yet though. Just find where they are at.

Your Plan of Action

If the babies look like they are old enough that they could move around on their own, then you should look to try to get them out of your attic. The best way to do that is through the use of an exclusion funnel. This allows the animals to get outside, but does not allow them to get back in.

Place the exclusion funnel on the outside of your house where you discovered the raccoon was getting into your home. Then, when it is getting dark outside, turn on an extremely bright light in the attic or play loud music. The noise or the light will startle the animals, causing them to run. They will head out the exclusion funnel, where they will be unable to get back in. You can then fix their entryway to deny their access and then the cleaning begins.

If they are too small to move on their own, then you may need to hire a professional to do the job. You likely don't want to do anything to harm the animals, and you need someone who is trained in capturing these kinds of animals. Start with your local animal control agency for help.

What Prices Do We Charge?
Every job is different: the type of animals involved, is it in the attic or the yard, do you need repairs, etc. It's impossible to have set pricing in this industry. Examples MIGHT include:
