  • Scratching Noises in Your Attic?
  • Unwanted Wildlife on Property?
  • Problem Bird or Bat Infestation?
  • Digging Lawn or Under House?
  • We Can Solve It!
Many of Wisconsin's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Wisconsin's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Dane county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Sun Prairie animal control for wildlife issues.

Sun Prairie Wildlife Removal Tip: How to get opossums out of your attic

If you want to get rid of the opossums out of the attic, you need to do something, because they will not leave on their own if your place is accessible to food, water and shelter which are the basic necessities in life.

Things to do

Dispose of a source of food. If you have opossums in your attic, there is a probability that you are doing something that makes them come closer to you. Possums will eat just about anything. Creepy crawlies, carcass, rodents, creatures of land and water, child winged animals, plants, organic products, vegetables, refuse, birdseed, pooch and feline foods too. Get rubbish jars with tight fitting tops and then secure them in a safe or enclosed area.

Get rid of their sanctuary. It just appears to be typical that something as terrible as an opossum would need some place to hide? Right. Begin by discarding any brush heaps. Once those are gone, dispose of heaps of wood or place them in a tight haven like a woodshed. Simply recollect to keep the way to the woodshed, and the carport, and the boat storage, and whatever other structure you may have closed.

Wipe out the opossum. This is not about killing them, because that is truly inhumane. Simply get yourself one of those pleasant Havahart opossum traps. Load it up with something rancid like canned feline nourishment or canned puppy sustenance. Practically any sort of old organic product or vegetable will likewise do the trap. When you get him in your opossum trap, drive him off similarly as you have sufficient energy to go (I would say a decent 20 miles at any rate) open the enclosure with a stick, venture back and let him leave your life for eternity.

Deliberately place smelling ammonia and mothballs. Discovered where the little creatures are walking away? Cover them with stink. The most regularly suggested strategy for pouring so as to expel opossums is the smell of the ammonia in an espresso can and setting an old cloth or towel in with it to go about as a wick to scatter the vapor. Do this all over the place that resembles a potential possum cover. You would prefer not to pursue it out of one concealing gap and into another. Don't hesitate to toss some moth balls around while you're busy.

Close off the den. In the event that the opossums being referred to are living under your shed, patio and so forth., sit tight and look for them to abandon and change the locks on the entryway. This must be done during the evening, since opossums are nighttime. Set yourself up some powerful lights in advance and don't turn them on till the critters are no more. Utilize some chicken wire or equipment fabric to cut off any probability of reentry.
