If you've never experienced a rat infestation before then you probably don't know that the responsibility of getting rid of that rat infestation actually lies at your feet. It is YOUR responsibility, if you are the homeowner, to get rid of rats, rat-proof your home, and make sure that you aren't taking part in any activity that could actually lure rats to your estate.

This isn't something that everyone knows, of course, so many will call up the local county or city animal services to ask for help. They will likely be pointed to the internet to find information of local rat trappers or removal experts, or told to get rid of them problem themselves. A shocking response many might think, but the rat problem is one faced by everyone now. It was once a problem confined to households or buildings that weren't well-kept, but even the most vigilant homes can be invaded when mistakes are made, such as not sealing holes or keeping an eye for damage that could let the critters in.

Sadly, with so many rat infestations, city or county services just don't have the time to help you with the problem. A few might offer a couple of traps to lend a hand, and some may even offer up poison for you to use (which we do not recommend), but as for coming out and sorting the problem out on your behalf? No; that's not going to happen. Not unless you happen to find yourself with a VERY friendly chap who has a lot of time on his hands. The chances of that happening, as you can probably guess, are slim to none.

So, who will help with rats?

You can always try to do the job yourself, but it's a pretty time-consuming, exhausting job that requires inspections, sealing, damage repair, extensive feces and urine cleanup, and perhaps even structural, electrical, or plumbing repairs for the building. One wrong or missed step will result in the rats coming right back in again, taking you back to square one - your starting point.

The right people to help with a rat problem are professional rat trappers or removal technicians, but not the kind of pest control company that uses poison as they work. You'll be pleasantly surprised by how quickly and cost-effectively a professional can remove rats from a building, and how stress-free it'll be for you, too!
